What are we waiting for? May 15, 2008

We are no longer “in charge.” Our students, our children are miles ahead of us and they are not waiting for us to catch up. Today’s children are in charge of and dominating communication in a way that has not been seen before. We are still trying to figure out the how and they are onto the why, when and which decisions.
We will never surpass the speed at which they understand and use tools that have become essential rather than luxuries. Technology is a tool to them. It is still a topic for some of us. We cannot wait any longer. We must attempt to keep up. We can no longer bail out the boat with a teaspoon.
Jump in. The social networking tsunami is here. Start communicating.
